 “God’s Work, Our Hands”

Holy Trinity gathers every Sunday at 10am.

WE ARE A WARM, WELCOMING, and AFFIRMING CONGREGATION.

The reformation, a movement that led to the creation of denominations such as the Lutherans, Anglicans, Presbyterians, Baptists and Pentecostals, that Luther began 500 years ago is an ongoing and continuous one within our congregation.  We rejoice in understanding that the church, like humankind, is not perfect and we welcome change as our understanding grows.

Holy Trinity Lutheran Church rejoices that you recognize the importance of a relationship with God.  We have found that many Christians want to have a better relationship with God and want to regularly attend services to connect with God, hear His word, ask for forgiveness, seek guidance and change in their lives, and reflect on the blessings bestowed by Him.

We extend a never expiring, welcoming, and open hearted invitation to do so with us!  We would love to have you join us!

JEANS ARE COMPLETELY ACCEPTABLE ATTIRE!

Our Vision: “To grow in the likeness of Jesus Christ and to invite others to experience Jesus Christ”

Our Mission:  “We will: Keep God first in our lives; be led by the Gospel, prayer, and faith; encourage and inspire one another, and reach out and make Christ’s message real for others.”

WHAT DO LUTHERANS BELIEVE?

We believe that salvation is the free gift of God’s grace (undeserved mercy) for Christ’s sake alone and that that God’s grace in Christ Jesus is universal, embracing all people of all times and all places. There is no sin for which Christ has not died.

We believe that individuals receive this gift of salvation through faith alone. Saving faith is trust in Jesus Christ.  Even faith itself is seen as a gift of God, created in the hearts of Christians by the work of the Holy Spirit through the Word and Baptism.

ADULT BIBLE
DISCUSSION
& INTERPRETATION

We meet Wednesday afternoons at 1:00pm to openly discuss scripture and how we interpret it.   We believe in looking at the context of the scripture and what it originally meant.  This can be through understanding the historical situation, meaning of words and symbols to the original audience, metaphors, and cultural understandings and compare that to how we relate to the scripture’s meaning today.  We strongly disagree with the use of Proof-Texting.  You may have noticed that by our website content already 🙂

Frequently we also meet prior to and/or after our Sunday service while enjoying some fresh coffee, refreshments, and donuts.

SECOND SATURDAY
MARKET & MORE

A ministry of our church since 2003, 2nd Saturday offers opportunities for the community to connect in a relaxed, “small-town” atmosphere. Vendors offer a variety of items, including crafts, jewelry, handbags, tools, antiques, plants, fresh produce (in season), and garage sale items.  Additionally, many vendors are small, local businesses.  A food stand is available, serving lunch items and drinks. Free popcorn for all!  We also collect non-perishable food items for Irving Cares at this event.

PARKLAND BEARS

Our Parkland Bears Mission meets every Monday at 10am in our lounge and they hand-stitch ‘critters’ that get donated to Parkland Hospital to help provide comfort to kids that are under the hospital’s care and to remind the children of God’s love.  To date, the Parkland Bears Mission has created and donated over 80,000 critters!!!
